Amsterdam, June 29th 2012 -­‐ The Capital Of Cool celebrates COOL! Starting now with the objective to become an authority on all things creative and to develop a global hub for everything that’s innovative, thoughtful and original with an obvious preference for the world of fashion, The Capital Of Cool offers the COOL from 9 global ‘Fashion Capitals’.

CEO and founder Koen Warmerdam (24) has worked in the fashion industry for the last three years as a representative for upcoming fashion brands Eleven Paris and Elvine in the Netherlands. He noticed an industry under financial crisis. As a result the big cities attracted fewer visitors, revenues decreased and new entrants such as mono-­‐brand stores and international webstores entered the local market. This made it difficult for independent retail stores to survive. Koen Warmerdam: ‘’Independent retailers who distinguished themselves and were original and innovative in terms of design, brands and communication, managed to survive these hard times.’’

Emphasis on independent
The Capital Of Cool presents de coolest independent retail stores coming from 9 Fashion Capitals: Amsterdam, Berlin, Copenhagen, London, Los Angeles, New York, Paris, San Francisco and Stockholm. These entrepreneurs have both a physical store, as a webstore and are driven by love of fashion, the store, the product and the service they provide.
Warmerdam: ’’Every day a team of stylists will present a selection of Essentials, Locals and Doors we Love. Users are able to buy products directly from the relevant store.

Furthermore there are daily updates with the coolest street looks per city. For instance, get inspired by the looks from Orchard Street, New York and Kingsland Road, London.
The Doors section is a place for stores to inspire users by presenting their Essentials, showing images and telling the story. Also there is a Map where users have the opportunity to see where the stores are located, how they look like and what they can expect when they visit the stores.’’

The Capital of Cool aims to create a network as big as possible for celebrators of innovative and original initiatives. At last The Capital of Cool wants to keep on surprising by constantly sharing the Love for the world of fashion.
